I know I can use an external coil model for something smaller but maybe someone else here had a similar problem and knows of a stock HEI distrubutor that might have a cap that is 1/4" smaller in diameter. I am currently happy with my Crane points eliminator but it wouldn't last forever either. Webb25 sep. 2006 · IMHO, the benefit to Dave Ray's conversion is that it uses a common HEI module. If you break down on the road, you can find replacement parts at almost any auto parts store. But in either case, both Pertronics and Dave Ray's setups convert a standard breaker point distributor to an HEI setup. It's a small body, thus it will fit.
