They are important decomposers of submerged woody debris and leaves in water. In this paper, we outline the genera of freshwater Dothideomycetes with notes and keys to species. WebThe anamorphic genus GyrothrixCorda (Corda)is characterized by the production of long setae (simple or ramified). The conidiogenous cells are generally ampulliform, somewhat obclaviform, hyaline to subhyaline, and are forming a palisade at the bases of the setae.
