(just like human babies do) So usually the pet has to be a few years old before they can know if it’s a serious problem or if it will self correct. WebI’d take the dog to a Vet Cardiologist to get a good diagnosis about the nature of the murmur. The Cardiologist will be able to tell you if it’s likely to be a puppy murmur (dog will outgrow it), a low level murmur that won’t really impact the dog (but it should never be bred), or a really serious issue.
